Dave here, as many local Canberra MTB riders will know I have been riding and racing bikes since 1996 and sponsored by POLAR heart rate monitors as a cyclist and runner for over 14 years.
Since the initial conception of 24hr mountain bike racing light technology has improved, it was terrible back in those early days, we used to rig up lights with a diachronic (indoor house lighting globe) and a lead acid battery strapped to your back. Its quite funny to watch riders do a nite lap with a dolpin torch on the handlebars. I have used and experimented with just about every lighting system put on the market as well as built my own. Thankfully, lighting technology has progressed massively since 1996!
I have seen terrible light mounting systems involving zip ties and velcro, poor switch quality, poor plugs and terrible battery quality. The lights sold on this site have been produced with the best features of all the lights I have seen, and you dont have to morgage the house to own a quality lite set.
Currently I’m still out there competing regularly on either my single-speed, hard trail or dual suspension bike. Recently I enjoyed a win in the single-speed category at this years 2009’s 50km Irate Intern at the Angry Doctor, finishing 12 overall in the men’s category. I guess I’m ageing a little to keep up with the young guns - but I try and give some of the hardcore veteran men a good race from time to time. My victories largely depend on who shows up…..
The background picture throughout this site is a 900 lumen light (lumen = brightness of the light) that’s bright enough for you to improve your night lap times with only a 20 to 30sec difference between your night and day lap, pending on how exhausted you are.
Nitelights are well and truly bright lights without your eyes hurting from excessive white light which is an issue over 1000 lumen.
I know what its like to sweat it out waiting for something to be fixed and sent back on time before the next big event. I will do my best to support you with warranty based problems and have them sorted out ASAP.
